The $5 Liberty Gold Half Eagle Coin is very important in US history. In 1933, the United States collected gold coins in circulation to melt them down into gold bars. This led to many gold coins being taken away from the general population. A limited number of these coins survived, and are now available to order on GoldClub Direct.
The United States Mint struck the $5 Liberty Gold Half Eagle Coin from 1839 to 1908, with only minor variations in design. This coin was designed by Christian Gobrecht and was produced at the Philadelphia, San Francisco, Carson City, New Orleans, Denver, Dahlonega, and Charlotte mints. Each coin contains .2419 oz of pure gold.
The obverse face features Lady Liberty facing to the left with the word “Liberty” on her crown. She is encircled by 13 stars. The reverse face features the heraldic eagle. It depicts an eagle with its wings spread out and a shield on its chest. The eagle is surrounded by the words “United States of America” and “Five D”, displaying the denomination, $5.
Each coin is available in Extra Fine (XF) condition, showing only light wear on its design elements. GoldClub Direct cannot guarantee which year you will receive, as it is based on availability during the shipping process. Do not miss the chance to get your hands on this rare, collectible coin.
