The coin was produced from 1921 to 1931 and then again from 1943 to 1972. All coins from 1949 to 1972 have a set “1947” date mark. Almost 4 million 50 Peso coins were produced from 1949 to 1972.
This listing is for random years and varied conditions for the 50 Peso Gold Coins. The coin you receive will be picked by our professional staff during the fulfillment process. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the issue date or condition for the coins before ordering. Every coin will contain 1.20565 Troy oz of .900 pure gold. The government of Mexico fully backs this coin with a $50 face value, although the intrinsic value of the coin is much higher.
On the obverse face of the 50 Peso Mexican Gold Coin is a depiction of Winged Victory. The design was engraved by Emilio del Moral and displays the Angel of Independence. She is holding the wreath crown of military victory and self-governance in her right hand. Her left hand holds onto the broken chain of servitude, symbolizing the independence of Mexico.
The reverse face features the Mexican coat of arms. Although different years of issue may have slight variations, the general design is of a bald eagle wrestling with a snake atop a cactus.
