The Austrian Philharmonic Series has widely been recognized as Europe’s best bullion coin series. The series pays homage to the Vienna Philharmonic Symphony. The symphony is a symbol of culture in Austria, representing the country’s strong ties to music. The 2024 1/10 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic is now available from GoldClub Direct.
Each coin contains .1 Troy oz of .9999 fine gold in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Your coins will ship in protective packaging and are insured for the shipping process in case of any damage. Individual coins will ship in plastic flips and multiples of 20 coins will ship in protective tubes. This coin is also considered legal tender in Austria, with a face value of 10 Euros.
The series began with a 1 oz and 1/4 oz Gold Philharmonic in 1989 by the Austrian Mint. In 1991, the 1/10 oz coin was added to the annual program, becoming a favorite among inventors looking for a lower entry point. The 1/4 oz gold coin was introduced in 1994 and the 1/25 oz coin was introduced in 2014, completing the 5-coin Gold Philharmonic series.
Both sides of the 1/10 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic were designed by Thomas Pesendorfer in 1989 for the release of this series. All weights have the same design. On the obverse face is a depiction of the Great Pipe Organ found inside the Golden Concert Hall at the Musikverein. When performing in Vienna, the Vienna Philharmonic Symphony holds its shows at the Musikverein. The specifications are also found on this side of the coin.
The reverse displays a collection of musical instruments featured in the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. These instruments include a cello, four violins, a French horn, a bassoon, and a harp.
