The reverse of the Silver Britannia depicts an image of Britannia first designed in 1987 by Philip Nathan. Britannia can be seen protecting Britain with an olive branch and a Union Jack shield in her left hand and a trident in her right hand.
The 2023 Silver Britannia is minted in brilliant uncirculated condition. Each coin contains .999 fine silver and will be encapsulated in a coin capsule to ensure quality. The Britannia is also enhanced with four advanced security features: micro-text (states ‘Decus et Tutamen’), latent image (changes from a padlock to a trident), tincture lines (featured on Union shield), and surface animation (creates a depiction of waves in the background).
