Description
The Royal Mint has officially introduced the 2023 1/10 oz British Gold Britannia, featuring the debut portrait of His Majesty, King Charles III on British coinage. This is the second edition of the 2023 Britannia, with the first release featuring Queen Elizabeth II. This marks the beginning of a new era in British coinage. The coin holds immense historical importance and is expected to be highly sought after.
The Gold Britannia series was introduced in 1987 and until now, every coin has featured Queen Elizabeth II. This is an exclusive opportunity to be among the first to own a Britannia coin bearing the image of King Charles III. Each coin is made up of 1/10 troy oz of .9999 pure gold in BU condition and is considered legal tender with a face value of 25 pounds. Your order will be delivered in individual protective flips or plastic tubes of 25 coins.
On the obverse of the 2023 1/10 oz British Gold Britannia, King Charles III is shown in left-profile relief, skillfully designed by Martin Jennings. The new monarch is depicted without a crown.Â
The reverse showcases a modern depiction of Britannia, originally created by Philip Nathan in 1987. Britannia has been a symbol of Britain since Roman times. She is portrayed standing tall on a rock, holding a trident in her right hand and a Union Jack shield and an olive branch in her left.
Furthermore, the Britannia coin also includes four advanced security features, making it the most visually secure coin in the world. These include a moving wave texture in the reverse background, a latent security image of a padlock, tincture lines on the shield, and micro-text engraving. This makes it even more valuable to investors and collectors. These elements represent the strength and security of Britain.
