The obverse face contains an artistic representation of the majestic African Elephant, the largest land mammal on earth. The elephant can be seen in full frontal view, showing off its impressive tusks. Also included on the obverse is the South African coat of arms.
The reverse contains two halves of the elephant’s face with a mirrored design. This was designed in this particular way so that when you have two coins side-by-side, the faces will combine to create a whole elephant. The more coins you own, the larger your “herd” becomes. The center of the reverse contains the specifications of the coin.
