The 2022 1 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf is now available on GoldClub Direct. 

The Canadian Gold Maple Leaf series was first introduced in 1979, 12 years after the first modern bullion coin program, the Krugerrand, was introduced. The Maple Leaf quickly grew in popularity, becoming one of the most demanded bullion coins internationally. 

Each Maple Leaf contains 1 oz of .9999 pure gold in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The Maple Leaf originally had a purity of .999, but in 1982, the Royal Canadian Mint improved the coin to a .9999 purity. Each coin will ship in individual, protective plastic flips, acrylic tubes of 10 coins, or monster boxes of 500 coins.

The obverse of the Gold Maple Leaf presents an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed for the mint by Susanna Blunt in 2003. The Queen can be seen in right-profile relief and is the first effigy for Canada to feature the Queen without a crown.

The reverse displays the iconic sugar Maple Leaf, the national symbol of Canada, and the name of this bullion coin series. Walter Ott created this design in 1979 for the introduction of the series, and it has not changed since. The reverse includes a micro-laser privy mark as an additional security measure.
