DETAILS

The Australian Nugget, now recognized as the Australian Gold Kangaroo, was created in 1986. The name was formally updated to reference the red kangaroo in 1990. Annually, the 1 oz and fractional-ounce gold coins typically receive an updated design. The 2022 1 oz Australian Gold Kangaroo Coins are now available to order at GoldClub Direct.

While the 1 Kilo coin design remains consistent, utilizing the original Stuart Devlin design of a kangaroo surrounded by sun rays, the mint changes the design of the kangaroo of the 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz coins.

For 2022, the Perth Mint has set mintage numbers for the fractional coins, while the 1 oz and 1 Kilo gold coins are being minted through 2023. Once the 2023 coins begin minting, the final 2022 mint numbers will become available.

The reverse design of the 2022 Australian Gold Kangaroos is designed with the image of a kangaroo family traveling across the outback. The Neil Hollis design depicts an adult kangaroo hopping with its joey, with small hills in the background.

Queen Elizabeth II is featured on the obverse of Gold Kangaroo Coins. The profile of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark used is the sixth-generation portrait to grace Australian coins and was originally created for the Royal Mint of England. This design shows the Queen in right-profile relief with the George IV State Diadem Crown on her head.

These 2022 1 oz Australian Gold Kangaroo Coins will arrive in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Perth Mint offers individual coins packaged in protective capsules or mint-sealed boxes of 100 coins.
