The Royal Mint has recently unveiled the Tudor Beasts Series, a new coin collection that follows in the footsteps of the highly successful Queen’s Beasts Series (2016-2021). This series showcases designs related to the Tudor Dynasty, such as the Royal Arms, crests, and various heraldic beasts. The collection includes coins in Brilliant Uncirculated and Proof conditions, with denominations of 1/4 oz and 1 oz gold coins, 2 oz and 10 oz silver coins, and a 1 oz platinum coin.
The obverse of the 2022 British Gold Tudor Beasts Lion Coin features a portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, as created by Jody Clark in 2015. The reverse design of the 2022 1/4 oz Gold Tudor Beasts Lion Coin depicts the Lion of England holding the impaled arms of King Henry VIII and Jane Seymour.
The series will feature a range of Gold and Silver Proof coins, depicting various beasts from the Tudor era, including the Lion of England, the Queen’s Panther, the Tudor Dragon, the Bull of Clarence, the Greyhound of Richmond, the Queen’s Lion, the Seymour Panther, the Yale of Beaufort, the Seymour Unicorn, and the Royal Dragon.
Individual coins come packaged in plastic flips, while multiples of 25 coins are packaged in plastic tubes. For bulk orders, the coins are packaged in 500-coin Monster Boxes, with each box containing 20 tubes of 25 coins.
