DETAILS

GoldClub Direct is proud to present the 1987 2-Coin Proof American Gold Eagle Set, which includes a 1 oz and 1/2 oz Proof American Gold Eagle coin. This set offers a unique opportunity to own two highly sought-after coins from the early years of the American Gold Eagle program.

The American Gold Eagle program was first introduced in 1986, and the proof coins were only offered in a one-ounce weight during that year. The program expanded in 1987 to include the 1/2 oz coin. The 1/4 oz and 1/10 oz were released in 1988, making 1987 the only year the 2-set coin was produced.

The 1 oz coin was struck in proof condition at the West Point Mint and the 1/2 oz coin was struck at the Philadelphia Mint, ensuring a high level of quality and detail. The 2-coin set comes in a stylish presentation case with a satin lining to present and protect your coins for years to come. Additionally, a certificate of authenticity directly from the US Mint will be included with your purchase.

American Gold Eagles contain .9167 (22-karat) pure gold and are considered legal tender in the United States. Although they have a face value, the intrinsic value of these coins is much higher due to the high gold content. Both coins in this set feature the iconic design of Lady Liberty standing atop a rock with a lit torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left hand, which was originally created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens for the $20 Gold Double Eagle in 1907.

The 1987 2-Coin Proof American Gold Eagle Set features the original reverse design created by Miley Busiek in 1986. It depicts a family of bald eagles, with the male eagle flying over the nest while the mother eagle protects her eaglets.

This set is a must-have for collectors and investors alike, as the coins are not only beautiful but also valuable due to their rarity and historical significance. Order now and add these beautiful coins to your collection today!
