DETAILS

The 1 oz Canadian Silver Maple Leaf is regarded as one of the most popular bullion coins on the market. This coin stands out against other major bullion programs for being able to achieve a silver purity of .9999. Almost every other sovereign silver bullion series has a purity of .999. The Royal Canadian Mint is able to receive higher purity thanks to its advanced minting features and top-of-the-line employees.

Each 1 oz Canadian Silver Maple Leaf (Random Year) contains exactly 1 oz of .9999 pure gold in uncirculated condition. Some coins may include slight visible damage as these coins come from the secondary market. The Silver Maple Leaf was issued a $5 denomination by the Canadian government, but the intrinsic value of the silver raises the value of the coin, making it inadvisable to use in circulation. The coins will be shipped in individual flips, plastic tubes of 25 coins, or monster boxes of 500 coins.

The Silver Maple Leaf was introduced in 1988, 9 years after the release of the Gold Maple Leaf. Both coins have shared the same design throughout every year of issue, with only the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II changing to reflect her age. The Royal Canadian Mint added advanced security features in 2014.

This listing is for random year coins, meaning you will receive coins from any year of mintage. Multiples may or may not feature coins from the same year. We cannot guarantee which year you receive as GoldClub Direct staff picks coins based on our inventory during the fulfillment process.

The obverse face features an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. The portrait will be one of three versions, depending on the year of mintage. The reverse has remained the same design for the entirety of the program. It displays the national symbol of Canada, the sugar maple leaf. Surrounding the maple leaf are the specification of the coin.
