DETAILS

The American Silver Eagle has long been regarded as one of the most popular coins in the world. The American Eagle series was officially released in 1986 by the United States Mint. The silver variety is only available in 1 oz weight, but can be bought in bullion, proof, or burnished conditions. This listing is for the bullion version and will arrive in uncirculated condition.

Each 1 oz American Silver Eagle contains 1 oz of .999 pure silver. Please note that products from this listing will contain random years of mintage, and what you receive depends on our inventory during the fulfillment process. Individual coins will be shipped inside of protective plastic flips, multiples of 20 will ship in plastic tubes, and 500 coins will ship inside a monster box. The silver eagle has a denomination of $1, although its true intrinsic value is higher. Slight damage might be visible, but it will be in within the PCGS or NGC standards for uncirculated coins.

In 2021, the design of the Silver Eagle was updated for the first time. The obverse contains the same design as previous versions with slight updates. The reverse is an all-new design by Emily Damstra and depicts a bald eagle soaring in flight while holding onto a large oak branch with its talons. This listing is for either version of the Silver Eagle and is based on our inventory.

The obverse of the 1 oz American Silver Eagle was originally designed by Adolph A Weinman in 1916 on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar. This design was modernized for the American Silver Eagle. Liberty can be seen walking towards the sun as she carries oak branches in her left hand.

The reverse of pre-2021 American Silver Eagles was designed by John Mercanti, a former chief engraver of the United States Mint. This image depicts an American bald eagle with a heraldic shield on its chest. Its left talon is holding onto arrows, while its right talon is holding onto an olive branch.
